All About Hemorrhoids

A hemorrhoid is such a sensitive and personal matter making it a bit impossible for those who have it to open up and talk about. Some may even be too humiliated seeing a specialist for their unwanted piles. Don’t fret, you’re not alone. Like about 10 million Americans suffering from piles, I would want something light about the subject. I understand it’s never funny having hemorrhoids, but hey, this thing exist – whether you’re a store keeper at a local convenient shop, a mum who is 7 months pregnant with her 2^nd baby, a CEO of a social networking site, a school bus driver or a 3-year old toddler who doesn’t even know how to spell hemorrhoids – it can happen to you. It might be hereditary or just plain old bad luck, but you have to deal with it. Would you want to know something about hemorrhoids that would make you feel human? I gave you hemorrhoids history in my last hub, what about some funny and well, (not-so) interesting things about America’s dreaded piles.

… In Living Color, an American sketch comedy, is probably the only TV series to include hemorrhoids in a title. In fact, they have 2 episodes "Hemorrhoid Guy” from Season 5 Episode 18 which aired February 3, 1994 and "Hemorrhoid Guy: the Hallway" and Episode 23 "Hemorrhoid Guy: the Hallway" aired March 24 of the same year. I never watched both episodes though so don’t ask me who played the hemorrhoid guy.

… Katherine Helmond, soap star (famous for playing Jessica Tate on Soap), was rumored to have hemorrhoids.

… George Clooney, everybody knows who he is, also had a hard time keeping his medical records from the public. The actor never gave a comment about it.

… Thrombosed Hemorrhoid and My boss is a Hemorrhoid by Glen Campbell and Latex Solar Beef by Frank Zappa are songs that have hemorrhoids in the lyrics. Either they describe having a pile our used to describe someone who is such a pain in the a**.

… There’s about 113,000 results for jokes about hemorrhoidson Google. Yes, some people can still laugh at it and be happy even if they have the hemorrhoids' joke on them.

… Hemorrhoids are often misspelled as: hemmoroids, hemroids, hemorhoids, hemerhoids and the list goes on.

… It’s never funny to see our babies suffering from any disorder. Hemorrhoids, however it may sound so adult, can happen to babies and toddlers.

… Hemorrhoids probably came from the bible word, “emrods” or “emerods”. God punished the Philistines (after the Philistines captured the ark of the covenant of God and they took it to their little mud-walled village of Ashod).
